SexualityThe sites listed in this category at The Millenium Project attack someone because of their sex, gender or sexual preferences or are offensive because of the message they convey about sexuality, and include the work of feminists, misogynists, gay bashers, straight bashers, paedophiles and other vermin. The sites listed here offer alternative views, rebuttals and factual information. (Note: Finding suitable sites to list here has been difficult. Most of the sites which offer contrary opinions to the sites listed in The Millenium Project fall into the category of either "Men's Rights" or proselytising homosexuality, both of which can be just as bigoted as the sites they oppose. I will keep looking, but suggestions are welcome.) books about sexuality.
There are sites listed in this category. Amnesty International Australia Committee to Defend Women's Rights in the Middle East Domestic Violence Factoids (Richard J. Gelles) An expert talks about the real level of domestic violence. It's far too high (anything above zero is too high) but making up numbers won't make it any better. PFLAG - Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Persons PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. Refuting the Most Common Feminist Lies and Pseudo-Scholarship (Robert Sheaffer) A web project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Tolerance.org encourages people from all walks of life to "fight hate and promote tolerance." The Universal Declaration of Human Rights V-Day twists holiday into male-bashing event (Christina Hoff Sommers) Feminists, bolstered by oceans of phoney statistics, are now trying to seize Valentine's Day (a day traditionally for celebrating good relations between the sexes) and re-define it as V-Day, a day to protest supposed systemic patriarchal violence against women. Here's someone talking sense about this.
